Water LEAK DETECTION

Underground Detections uses multiple ways to determine locations of leaks for water and gas lines. Water and gas leaks can cost a home owner or business greatly, not only in cost but also in structure and landscaping damages. Our locating can provide you with the location of a leak with a very high accuracy. These leaks can occur under slabs or in landscaping. On the harder to locate leaks, we are able to utilize various ways to locate sources of the leaks; from acoustics to helium and CO2 to determine locations of the leak.

Private utility locates

Whether you are digging a shallow trench or excavation a large area, utility location is always a must. Calling 811 public utilities prior to digging will ensure all public utilities are marked out. Public utilities do not locate any private utilities on any property. This is where Underground Detection comes to the rescue. Underground Detection can locate any private utilities that are on any job site. We locate utilities from sites as small as residential to commercial and industrial. By locating private utilities after public utilities are marked out will minimize any damages from hitting/damaging any lines. We locate electrical, communications, gas, water, sewer (sanitary and storm), abandoned and underground storage tanks (oil and gas).

GEOPHYSICALsurvey Locating

EMI: Electromagnetic induction
GPR: Ground Penetrating radar

Underground Detection uses different methods for a geophysical locate.
From EMI (Electromagnetic Induction) and GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar), we are able to scan/locate large areas with increased depths in a shorter amount of time than typical methods, with greater results. Electromagnetic Induction can be used for numerous applications; landfill boundaries, USTs (Underground Storage Tanks), underground structures, duct banks of utilities, etc. When locating on large areas, the boundaries of these found anomalies/boundaries can be mapped out on the site from the results.

SEWER LOCATES AND VIDEO INSPECTIONS

With any pipes there can be a multitude of issues that come with installation and age. For sanitary sewer pipes, from residential to commercial, you can have blockages from use or even roots from surrounding plants/foliage. These pipes can also, depending on type of piping, can deteriorate with the age of the pipeline. Underground Detection uses a push camera to determine locations of any issues on pipe lines that are detectable as well as depth of these lines.

Concrete Radar scans

When you are trenching and coring any concrete there can be risks that coincide with these. Within any slab of concrete there may be reinforcement and conduits that can hinder any job. Underground Detection can locate post-tensioned cables, rebar, conduits, concrete depth, and void detection. For any reinforcement in slabs, depth of targets is able to be determined for any grinding that may need be completed. For block walls GPR can be utilized for void/grouted cells in CMU block walls. There is a large range of uses for concrete scanning that can aid on most job sites.

fAULT LOCATING

Cable faults can cause a breakdown in the amount of voltage from one point to another. There are many factors that can cause these faults, anything from breakages, nicks in the wire, corrosion, or missing/cut sheathing around wiring. Locating these faults can save any possible issues that may arise.

AutoCAD Mapping

Along with marking out located utility lines/boundaries on the ground, AutoCAD mapping is a significant aid for future references. After completing a utility locate or geophysical locate using EMI, we are able to map out all found targets onto an AutoCAD map. While some are not able to read the AutoCAD maps, we can also provide PDF and KMZ (Google Earth) files for our customers.
